Troy Camp partners with 20 elementary schools in South Los Angeles. Over the many years, Troy Camp has worked with each school to be able to provide an opportunity for their students to attend camp in the month of May. We want to thank our constant partner schools for their support and dedication every year.
Our partner schools consist of a variety schools ranging from public, private, and magnet schools, but all at the elementary school level. Seventeen schools are located within the Central School Zone of the Los Angeles Unified School Districts. All partner schools are within a 2 mile radius of the University Park Campus of USC in order to ensure that each student will be able to have a form of transportation to campus. In order to honor our Good Neighbors Campaign Grant, ten of the Partner Schools are a part of the USC Community of Schools, which works closely with the Good Neighbors Campaign.
All Partner Schools follow a formal camper recruitment process, which includes the creation of the camper application, exchange and distribution of the applications, and the review of camper applications submitted by each partner school. Each student is selected on a holistic basis using a grading rubric and the discretion of the Director of Camper Recruitment and Co-Executive Directors of Troy Camp. Troy Camp supports the procedure that each partner school has put into effect regarding the distribution of applications.
